Medical translation
Clinical trial training
Client:
Medicro, contract research organization (CRO).
Project:
English to Spanish translation of training materials related to a clinical trial protocol and aimed at nursing staff (35,600 words). The documents contained information about the disease and study drug, a summary of the protocol and instructions on how to carry out a physical examination of the patients, the forms they needed to fill in at each visit and the collection, storage and shipment of the samples obtained. The materials were written in a clear and direct language, with an abundance of medical terminology..
Result:
Thanks to an accurate and meticulous translation, the nurses in the Spanish centres received clinical trial training in Spanish and therefore perfectly understood the instructions and carried them out in accordance with the protocol. The translation of these materials meant that the trial could be conducted in Spain as planned, without the risk of mistakes due to inaccurate instructions or a lack of understanding.
Health-related website
Client:
Osatoki, company offering health promotion advice and training services.
Project:
Spanish to Basque translation of the website and various brochures of a health promotion company (4,000 words). The texts described the services aimed at families, companies, public institutions and various groups and were therefore written in a direct and professional style to gain the confidence of potential clients.
Result:
Both the website and the brochures are available in Basque and clearly and accurately reflect the company’s services, thus helping to attract potential clients who prefer to communicate in Basque..
Environmental translation
Nature interpretation panels
Client:
Ortzadar, company that creates educational material.
Project:
Spanish to Basque translation of the interpretation panels for a nature route (3,900 words). Text aimed at the general public, describing points of interest along a greenway and the main species of flora and fauna found in the area, and interspersing interesting facts about the history of the place with ancient beliefs about certain trees and animals. Written in an educational and friendly style, with clear wording and an abundance of scientific terminology that had to be reproduced faithfully in Basque to convey the exact information without overwhelming the reader or losing their attention.
Result:
The panels increased knowledge about the characteristics of the area’s natural landscape, the different ecosystems that form it and the species that inhabit it. They also promoted the use of Basque in recreational environments..
Waste management website
Client:
ecologic, confidential document destruction company.
Project:
Spanish to Basque translation of the website of a company committed to sustainability and responsible waste management (4,300 words). The texts described the company’s values and the services they offer and were written in a direct and professional style aimed at gaining the confidence of potential clients.
Result:
The website is available in Basque and clearly and accurately reflects the company’s services, thus helping to attract potential clients who prefer to communicate in Basque.
